Dear Walker Lunn:
I want to take a moment to thank you for your assistance in getting our composting program started here at Marriott International. It has been several months now that the program has been in place. I must state that for what was originally considered to be pilot program, the results have been very encouraging. Not only has the program been advantageous to us, but there are larger and broader sweeping ramifications of how we are benefiting the environment. From a "green" perspective the benefits are huge.
As a start up program for us and considering all the potential concerns that could have arisen, I appreciate the seamless service your company has provided. The few initial concerns we had were addressed immediately.
I have found the program to be an exercise in awareness. As an operator, I thought I was very aware of what was going in the waste bins. However, I must admit that the program has made me hyper sensitive to our level of product utilization. I firmly believe that added awareness and sensitivity has had a direct impact on my product cost resulting in an overall reduction.
As an industry leader, we should be driving these types of programs. I welcome opportunities to discuss with others how having a composting program benefits all involved.
Sincerely,
Bill Leffler
